You can't retrieve from lava or water, though. If you are, then things will 'drop' into it. Minecarts are my fav but I can't see what is happening here in Steam edition. Note: If you aren't dumping into a hole, water, or lava, a dump can 'fill' up it seems, depending on the number of squares. If a dwarf likes hamsters they will take it as a pet, with it riding around on their shoulder IIRC. 'You can catch the hamsters in an animal trap if you want. But nothing seems to work, there are just 5 corpses chilling in the tavern depressing everyone. Its working too, but i hope to find standart way, when dwarves will gather remains and dumping it without command, like in old version of DF. Assign every dwarf with a custom role to haul and burry corpses and refuse. but then the object immediately dumps west and remains 0%? I'm at a loss. Ive tried about everything: - Make refuse dumps. Shown in screenshot is best I can manage without video, I've recreated the route with multiple stops a few times, double checked the cart takes in objects marked in stockpile and all that works (they move objects to the cart). However right now I see dwarves walking over the objects in the stockpile, walking over and "putting" in the minecart, then the object immediately dumps to the west and remains empty at 0%, the dwarf goes back to object to west, tries to load again and it immediately dumps in endless loop. To do that, you need to build a 'rail stop' on that spot. Second, you really want to add a direction to your second stop, that will make the minecrart dump all of it contents in the set direction without dwarf having to do anything.

So that will stop your dwarfs from running a full minecart back.

Build a construction track stop out of whatever in the single space you left between the input and output pile set it to dump in the direction of the output pile.
